I haven't posted anything in a while, either because I've been busy, been useless or simply had no ideas or forgotten about the ideas when I had time.
Well. You get the idea.
Just to cheer you up, here is a nice and weird music video you can waste 3 minutes watching. There's some weird shit at the end that may not be safe for work, but the music video itself is damn cool, and the song is pretty good too.

Some people get along fine with their ex's and a lot of people don't.
Whoever designed this nice knife-rack probably falls into the latter category. While definitely nasty, I must admit I absolutely love this one. Let's just call it a good nasty, shall we?
This simply represents a so raw and uncencored display of emotion that it's almost impossible to not feel touched at some level.

Today I saw something special: a motivated junkie. And what a beautiful sight it was!
It goes without saying that one thing that characterizes any major city, is its share of problem childs. People who have fallen victim to variouses substances, be it alcohol or harder drugs. People who have failed to manage reality, and somewhere in the process have become one-dimensional creatures whose main characteristic is being unable to move, speak coherent or do anything worthwhile. Unless ofcourse, when aiming for a new fix. This is how we usually see them, and this is how we expect them to be: A loathed subspecies of the human race.

Recently there's been lots of bad noise about how Microsoft has decided to license Windows Vista. Most of the complaints that has been adressed so far has been from a user's point- of view and how the new licensing is unnecessarily restrictive. Considering how most of this is self-evident, I'm not going to dive deeper into that.
Instead, I will be looking at this question from a code-perspective and how this probably will affect the actual codebase of Windows Vista itself and why I think Microsoft has made a really bad decision.

Having posted nothing useful in a while I decided I might as well publish my simple RSS-components library. Basicly it implements what's needed to publish a RSS-feed on a website. A valid RSS-feed, as opposed to lots of the other feeds out there.
Usage is simple:
- Instanciate a RssFeed object with your own site-specific data.
- Instanciate a RssItem object with specific post-data and add to the Items collection of the RssFeed object. Repeat as needed.
- Return the output from the ToString() method on the RssFeed class to the client.
- Done.

Anyone who has seen the new remake of Battlestar Galactica has gone crazy about it. There's no doubt this: This is the best scifi that has been produced in ages. Now, after a long wait, season 3 is out and everyone is in a frenzy.
I'm not going to present any spoilers, not even for season 2, so reading up should be safe.
Despite everyone loving the show, about 100% of the viewers were uneasy about how it would all go after the end of season 2. Basicly, it seemed that the producers had gone Lost on us.

Today slashdot reported that Slackware (Linux) 11 is now out. Being bored at work, I decided to troll a little. That is, inform whoever might risk being misled by the headline, that Slackware is a piece of shit that should be avoided at all cost.
All the standard responses were there. That using Slackware was the only true way to learn how Linux really works. How every other Linux distro out there is bloated and that it will severely impact the performance of their 3.0GHz multi-core setups they have running (nevermind Slackware being compiled for 386, eh?). There were also a few creative ways of rewriting "Slackware lacks essential features" into "Not being locked into a specific solution".

I got this in the mail last week, and found it quite amusing, so here is a quick & dirty translation.
Marketing for women
You're at a party and spot a handsome guy. You approach him and say "I'm pretty good in the bedroom". This is direct marketing.
You're at a party and spot a handsome guy. You approach him and ask for his phonenumber. The following day you call him up and say "I'm pretty good in the bedroom". This is tele-marketing.
You're at a party with a few friends. You spot a handsome guy, and one of your friends approaches him and tells him "She is pretty good in the bedroom". This is advertising.

Upcoming wednesday, at John Dee, Oslo, no-one else than eX-girl themselves are coming to town. Yay!
I've been to concerts with these girls before and every single live-gig they've held has surpassed awesome. This will be great!
Only problem I have is thursday. More precisely work at thursday. I will be holding the course "2543 Advanced data access", and need to be quick, sharp and in presentable shape. So I will have to hold back some energy at the concert and don't get drunk, but no way I'm not going.
